November 9-10, 2024

November 9-10, 2024

Dear @NAME,

WE WORSHIP TOGETHER

Worship Times:   Saturday at 5:30pm and Sunday at 10:30 am

This Week’s Bible Readings: Micah 6:1-8, Psalm 146, 1 John 4:7-12, Mark 12:28-34

This Weekend: LLSI Sunday

Join us for worship… This Sunday, Rev. Kelly Nieman-Anderson from Lutheran Social Services of Illinois will be preaching on Micah 6:1-8 as well as showing a short video of the work that they do.  LSSI’s mission is to share God’s healing, justice, and wholeness with our neighbors.

Throughout the Bible, and especially in today’s scriptures from Micah and Matthew, we are reminded that those of us who claim to love God and love our neighbor are asked to show that love in some practical ways, which reflect God’s justice, compassion, and love...and which require our own humility and effort.
In other words, loving God cannot be separated fromloving God’s people... and walking humbly with God is only possible when we are also sharing justice and kindness with our neighbor. Lutheran Social Services of Illinois is one way in which faithful people invest their time, money, and resources
into specific, practical actions which share God’s healing, justice, and wholeness with one another.

BECAUSE OF GOD'S GREAT MERCY - “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood,  a holy nation, God’s own people” – 1 Peter 2:9

God has made us God’s own people “in order that” we might proclaim through word and deed all that God has done in our lives. We do that individually as we live our faith in our daily lives. We also do that collectively in our congregation.

Our congregation proclaims God’s mighty acts within our walls through worship, through Christian education for our children and youth, through the many groups that meet to learn and serve. Our congregation proclaims God’s mighty acts in our community as we make a difference for good in the lives of people around us who are in need. Our congregation proclaims God’s mighty acts across our country and around the world as we support important ministries that are making a difference near and far.
