Here’s what’s happening this week at Trinity!

What’s Next for Trinity?

As you all are aware, we said a fond farewell to Pastor Jason last weekend and congregation members are asking about next steps.  Next weekend (10/28 & 10/29) is Reformation Sunday weekend, which, of course, is a big weekend for Lutherans! We are blessed that Rev. Kurt Hendel will lead the Saturday and Sunday services next weekend. Jobey Hendel and Sue Phelan are working diligently to find supply [substitute] pastors for the weekends of 11/4 and 11/5 and 11/11 and 11/12.  Additionally, Jobey initiated contact with Rev. Dr. Wyvetta Bullock, Associate to the Bishop at the Metropolitan Chicago Synod to find an Interim Pastor to serve our congregation. Jobey and John Boecker are scheduled to meet remotely with Rev. Dr. Bullock this week.

In the meantime, Trinity's work to forward our mission, Teaching the Love of Christ continues.  At the recommendation of Rev. Dr. Bullock, the Council is working  to form a transition team whose function will be to ensure tasks are being completed and support is provided to our staff and volunteer army to continue business as usual.  Please continue to pray for our Trinity congregation and especially our leaders, continue to love each other and work together in service of God and neighbor. As always if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to any of the Council members. Their names are printed in the weekly announcements. To God be the glory!
